Dunvegan Community Trust (DCT) was established in 2009 to distribute funds from the Ben Aketil Windfarm, supporting local not-for-profit groups and community projects. Its work has expanded to include grants for individuals and small-scale initiatives that benefit the wider Dunvegan area.
In 2022, DCT became a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), enabling it to take a more proactive role in developing community assets. The Trust continues to provide funding while encouraging local membership to strengthen community representation and support future opportunities.
